PALMISTRY

From the editor: PALMISTRY is a fascinating subject. It is one of the oldest of the ancient `occult' sciences, and is even mentioned in the earliest known Indian writings; yet in spite of this, it is a study very relevant to mo­dern life. In palmistry many subjects meet - medi­cine, psychology, morphology, astrology, endocrino­logy and many more - yet it remains essentially a simple study, based on the assumption that it is pos­sible to judge by appearance. Palmistry can be studied on many levels. You cans learn something of the simple basic theory and put this into use in your daily contact with people, for example, in helping you form judgements of character; or you can devote much of your time to the subject, read and study widely and eventually construct your own special system and begin an adventure with new ideas.

This book is designed to start the beginner off on either of these roads. The basic theory of hand types and certain teachings concerning the meaning of the lines are presented in a simple and, I hope, inter­esting manner. With the information contained in the following pages you will find both a basic framework for more prolonged study or sufficient background knowledge to entertain yourself and your friends with accounts of their personality and character traits.
